Research

Peter is an NIH NRSA F32 Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley with Prof. Jay Keasling. He completed a B.S. in Chemistry from Michigan Technological University  and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Northwestern University with Prof. Chad Mirkin. Peter’s thesis research focused on programming protein organization into sequence-encoded architectures using DNA. Peter joined the Keasling Laboratory in September 2022 and his postdoctoral research aims to achieve the scalable and sustainable microbial biosynthesis of therapeutically-relevant triterpene-derived plant natural products. Peter’s research has been recognized by awards, including the Barry Goldwater Scholarship, the Ryan Graduate Fellowship, the Ludo Frevel Crystallography Scholarship, and the JGI CSP New Investigator Award.
