Research

Patrice is a multidisciplinary researcher with a background in chemistry, textile engineering and microbiology. Her work focuses on improving the production yield of bioplastic precursors in bacteria and yeast cells as a replacement petroleum-based materials, specifically textile/apparel products. She studies how polymers can be used to engineer the extracellular environment for optimized metabolic efficiency at both the individual cell level and in synthetic microbial communities.
