Research
I am studying the efficient valorization of bio-waste into transgenic food proteins produced by filamentous fungi. As natural primary decomposers, these robust microorganisms demonstrate impressive enzyme secretion mechanisms for breaking down complex biopolymers. However, the synthetic toolkit for manipulating the fungal genome is currently limited. In my research, I aim to address this challenge, and develop improved fermentation processes to achieve higher protein titters and yields.
