Research
My background is in molecular biology and metabolic engineering. Under Dr. Tian in the Plant Sciences Department at UC Davis, I worked to characterize an alternative function on shikimate dehydrogenase in pomegranate using heterologous expression in E. coli. My interests have since turned to the rational metabolic engineering of microbes for the production of commodity chemicals such as bioplastics. In the Keasling Lab, I hope to continue studying metabolic engineering and contribute to the lab’s strain screening and characterization efforts.
