Research
My research interests lie at the intersection of microbiology, ecology, and biotechnology. I have pursued interdisciplinary projects that apply microbial systems to address environmental challenges. Previously, my work has involved the identification of plant pathogens for improved agricultural resilience, the analysis of methane-producing microbes in polluted coastal waters, and the genetic engineering of cyanobacteria to enhance their suitability for CRISPR-based and other synthetic biology applications. Most recently, this work has sparked my curiosity about metabolic engineering and its potential environmental applications, particularly in the context of sustainability and bioresource utilization. This interest led me to the Keasling Lab, where I am working as a short-term visiting scholar. I am excited to learn more about microbial biofuel production and its role in advancing renewable technologies.
