Research Project with the Keasling Lab

Understanding Stress Response of Desulfovibrio vulgaris Hildenborough

Research Summary

I use proteomics to evaluate changes in the physiology of the anaerobic bacterium Desulfovibrio vulgaris Hildenborough under a variety of stress conditions. Using the iTRAQ peptide labeling technique, proteins from many different conditions can be compared quantitatively by mass spectrometry. I use QTOF and MALDI mass spectrometry combined with nano-flow HPLC. For more information, you can follow the links to the Environmental Stress Pathway Projectof the Virtual Institute for Microbial Stress and Survival (VIMSS).

Current Projects

I perform proteomics research as part of the Technology Division of JBEI
